Gwyneth Paltrow and Scarlett Johansson bitchy on Iron Man 2 set

What started out as an exciting team-up is now turning into one big bitch fest over on the set of Iron Man 2. The summer blockbuster has been getting a lot of on-set buzz because of it’s two lead female stars. Gwyneth Paltrow who is reprising her role as Pepper Potts is rumored to be cold and unfeeling towards the Black Widow herself Scarlett Johansson. Apparently GOOP has a little bit of an ego problem as she seems to be resenting the attention (both from the press and the crew) that ScarJo has been getting (and continues to get) as the sexy and seductive villain in next year’s blockbuster. She seems to be jealous of everything from the director’s attention down to the tight-fitting attention-grabbing costumes Scarlett has to wear for the role. Since Pepper is more of a behind-the-scenes kind of gal, GOOP is always clad in no-nonsense business suits and cocktail dresses while ScarJo gets to look like pretty much a whore everyday. And Gwynnie doesn’t like it one little bit.

This isn’t the only controversy surrounding the sequel. Aside from the cast change from Terrence Howard to Don Cheadle in the role of Jim Rhodes (aka War machine), Scarlett herself was only the second choice to play Black Widow. The Devil Wears Prada’s Emily Blunt was originally cast in the role but had to back out due to scheduling conflicts. Another thing that GOOP seemed to be pissed about. She was looking forward to working with the British actress, stating that she and her have more in common than she and Scarlett. Says a source close to the star “They come from different worlds and have completely different styles. Gwyneth has found Scarlett very demanding of the attention of the crew. It’s not a happy set. Gwyneth was looking forward to working with Emily Blunt, who was originally in line for the part, but it ended up being Scarlett. Gwyneth’s had to live with that and she has been very professional, but she and Scarlett haven’t developed a friendship on the shoot, which is almost at the half way point. In fact, it’s quite the opposite.”

All of a sudden I’m interested in this movie for completely different reasons now. I know that these two hot babes are professional actresses and wouldn’t do anythihng to endager the shoot, but the premiere night and the press junkets will be an entirely different scene altogether. I can just imagine them being forced together – light and dark – for promotional shoots and press junkets. Let’s hope that all the animosity or ignoring would cease by the time the shoot is over. But at the same time, I’ll be waiting with bated breath for little euphemisms and innuendos that the two will surely have for each other. In a world where paranoia is increasing exponentially, it’s easy to give in to the fears and whisperings of danger lurking around every corner. Carcinogens in sugar, transfat in butter, cholesterol in broccoli – stuff like that. In our modern times, there are so many red flags waving in front of our faces warning us of the things we eat, stuff we wear, land we live in, even the air we breathe. We can do one of two things – either not listen to the paranoia, or completely give in to it. Unfortunately one such Gwyneth Paltrow has taken on the latter route. As a result, she doesn’t shampoo.

She apparently is frightened of the environmental toxins that live in shampoo and other everyday items. She’s scared not just for herself but for her kids as well. Especially for her kids, since their metabolisms are still in their developing phase and may not break down these toxins as fast as grown-ups can. My question is: When did Gwyneth Paltrow get so crazy?

Okay, so I understand the whole being overly-cautious thing, but it seems that these days things are just getting so ridiculously out of hand that we fear every single thing we see and experience. And now, if someone like Gwyneth Paltrow, an influential A-list actress admired by many as one of the sanest people in Hollywood would spew nonesense like “Don’t shampoo!”, imagine how many smelly-haired people we’d encounter everyday.

Maybe Gwyneth should focus more on getting her sexy back rather than walking around with unshampooed hair looking like an absolute trainwreck. I remember back when she was the hot “it” girl. Everyone wanted to work with her. Every guy wanted to fuck her. Apparently getting married to a rock singer and popping out kids will tone your sexy down. Okay, so maybe it’s just the not-shampooing. Scarlett Johansson is losing weight. Why?

One of the most disturbing news I’ve heard today is that sexy and voluptuous vixen Scarlett Johansson will be shedding the pounds to prepare for her role in the next Iron Man movie where she’ll be playing Russian spy Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow. She’s buffing up for physically demanding role so no more womanly curves for the time being.

Now, I know how some actors do their best to get into character. Renee Zellweger gained twenty pounds for Bridget Jones Diary. Christian Bale lost several pounds for The Machinist. But Scarlett doing anything for a role – ANY role is just unacceptable. She’s just so perfectly hot as she is. I don’t think it’s fair to cast an actress to play a sexy role and ask her to change herself for it. She was cast in the role for the reason of being hot.

Of course, I’m just speculating if the producers asked her to shed the poundage, but if they did they all is crazy! I don’t see the point in making her skinnier. Are they trying to match her with Gwyneth Platrow, who’ll be reprising her role as Pepper Potts. First of all, Gwyn practically looks like a walking corpse and has nothing sexy about her. Okay, so maybe motherhood has added a few inches to her boob size, but still, comparing her body to Scarlett’s is like comparing John Goodman’s to Brad Pitt’s. There’s just no comparison.

So my advice? Leave it alone. Scarlett is already hot just the way she is. I have an itching feeling that Gwyneth specifically asked producers to make Scarlett look less-attractive than her. In my opinion, the only way that would happen, is if Scarlett had to wear a fatsuit and a mustache for the movie, and even then she’d still one-up Gwyneth in the hot department. Don’t believe me?
